Description:

Norvasc is a drug with antianginal and antihypertensive effects. It is used for arterial hypertension, stable angina pectoris, for Prinmental’s angina pectoris, both as a therapeutic therapy and in combination with other antianginal agents.

Composition and analogues of the drug.

The main component is amlodipine besylate. Excipients: cellulose, calcium, starch, magnesium stereate.
Analogues: Agen, Akridipin, Amlovas, Amlodak, Amlodivel, Amlodigamma.

What is the mechanism of action?

It has an antianginal effect, due to the expansion of the coronary and peripheral arteries and arterioles. With angina pectoris, the severity of myocardial ischemia decreases. Expands the coronary arteries, increases the supply of oxygen to the heart, prevents spasms of the coronary arteries. Does not increase mortality or morbidity in patients with chronic heart failure.

Dosing regimen.

The medicine is taken orally with a small amount of water 100 ml.
With arterial hypertension – 5 mg or 10 mg per day.
The maximum daily dose is 10 mg.

Side effects and contraindications.

Side effects: headaches, dizziness, fatigue, drowsiness, abdominal pain, nausea, rapid heartbeat.
Contraindications:
Severe arterial hypotension, shock, heart failure after myocardial infarction, age under 18 years, hypersensitivity to amlodipine.
