If necessary, and if the drug is well tolerated, the dosage can be increased to a maximum value of 40 mg / day. With a too pronounced decrease in blood pressure, the dose of the drug is gradually reduced.

Side effects: nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, decreased potency, itchy skin, increased sweating, sleep disturbance, feeling cold, numbness of the extremities.
Contraindications: arterial hypotension, cardiogenic shock, chronic heart failure, hypersensitivity to atenolol.
