Zestril is a combination drug that reduces bradykin degradation and increases prostaglandin synthesis.
It is used for: arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure, treatment of acute myocardial infarction, diabetic nephropathy.

The main active ingredient in the composition is: lisinopril.

What effect does the drug have?
The drug reduces blood pressure and peripheral vascular resistance. Causes a minute increase in blood volume. Expands the arteries, with supplementary use, hypertrophy decreases. Improves blood circulation in the heart area and normalizes blood pressure.
Lisinopril does not affect blood glucose and does not increase blood sugar, so it can be used by diabetics.
Dosing regimen.
For arterial hypertension who do not receive other hypertensive drugs, patients are prescribed 5 mg. every day. In the absence of effect, the dose can be increased to 20-40 mg. per day.
Side effects and contraindications.
Side effects: nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, decreased potency, itchy skin, increased sweating, sleep disturbance, feeling cold, numbness of the extremities.
Contraindications: arterial hypotension, cardiogenic shock, chronic heart failure, hypersensitivity to atenolol.
