Description:

Betapace is an antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic and antianginal drug.
Indications for use: with ventricular extrasystole, for the prevention of heart disease, with tachycardia resulting from thyrotoxicosis, in patients with high blood pressure, hypertensive cardiomyopathy, for the prevention and treatment of myocardial infarction.

Composition and analogues of the drug.

The main active ingredient in the composition: sotalol.
Analogues: Corvasan, Tonorma, Bisogamma, Metoprolol, Obzidan, SotaGeksal, Propranolol, Sotaleks.

How to use and dosage.

The drug is taken orally before meals. The dosage and mode of administration is strictly determined by your doctor.
For the treatment of high blood pressure 80 mg per day.
With ventricular tachyarrhythmia 160 mg per day, 2 doses. Sometimes the dose can be increased to 320 mg in 2 divided doses.
The maximum daily dose is 480 mg.

Side effects and contraindications.

Side effects: palpitations, heart failure, hypersensitivity to light, headache, dizziness, insomnia, asthenia, depression, fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, loss of appetite, shortness of breath.
Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, stage 4 heart failure, during cardiogenic shock, laryngeal edema, diabetes mellitus, breastfeeding period, with metabolic acidosis.
