Description:

Aldactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic used in the treatment of edema, heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and kidney disease. It is also used to treat high blood pressure, hypokalemia, acne, and excess hair in women. Also included in feminizing hormone therapy for transgender women.

The main active ingredient in the composition is spironolactone.

How to take and dosage.

For the treatment of arterial hypertension, the daily dose ranges from 50-100 mg. If necessary, the dose may be increased to 200 mg. To achieve effective treatment, the drug is recommended to be taken for 14 days.
In idiopathic hyperaldosteronism, the drug is prescribed from 100 to 400 mg per day.
With hypokalemia from 25 to 100 mg per day.
For the treatment of edema of nephrotic origin, 100-200 mg per day.
With edema in children, the initial dose is 1-3.3 mg / kg. If necessary, the dose may be increased.

Side effects and contraindications.

Side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, confusion, allergic reactions may occur.
Contraindications: Addison’s disease, hyperkalemia, anuria, pregnancy, breastfeeding, hypersensitivity to the drug.
